Beauty and Balance: A Full-Service Design Approach

A Full-Service Design Approach To Beauty and Balance

Seven years ago, I had a vision for how I could offer a design approach to customers that encompassed everything from soup to nuts.  How could Donna Mancini Interiors (DMI) help customersBeauty and Balance: A Full-Service Design Approach with their renovation projects by bringing in beauty and balance and, at the same time, give them one point of contact during the whole process?   It’s been a winding road of design twists and turns that has culminated in DMI’s Full-Service Design.

There are four steps to DMI’s Full-Service Design process that give customers the peace of mind that their design or renovation project is in the right hands.

1. Design/Project Consultation

Beauty and Balance: A Full-Service Design ApproachDuring this step, we get to know each other! We familiarize ourselves with your space, your tastes and gain an understanding of how you want to live and function there.  From there, we talk big picture design and offer ideas and potential solutions that align with objectives. Then we begin identifying and discussing the initial scope, budget and how our process works.

As a full-service design or renovation client, it’s here that we’ll begin to gather measurements, photographs, floor plans and any other materials necessary for your project.  Step 1 has a fixed fee.

2. Initial Design Presentation

This step is typically the most intensive time commitment for our design teams. We utilize all the information we have gathered during the initial consultation and begin to create conceptual designs that align with your described lifestyle and desired functionality.

We make material and finish selections and source product options to be able to create a preliminary cost outline. This step may include an initial site visit with one or more of our contractors and project partners. This step culminates in an initial design presentation and project directional meeting.

Step 2 fee is based on the complexity and initial scope of the potential project.

3. Design Finalization & Contract

This step entails the procurement process, including finalizing details and costs associated with materials, finishes, products, and providers. In addition, we will finalize the scope of work and develop a project timeline.  Customers come into the Showroom to review all documents, product listings, the timeline, and payment terms. The meeting culminates in the execution of contracts and payment of project deposit.

4. Project Execution…Now the Fun Begins!

This step provides oversight of provider scheduling and management, material procurement and receiving, and delivery and installation. We are the customer’s single source of communication and coordination through the end of the project to ensure that the project is delivered to the agreed specifications and the transformation is complete. DMI has a sister company that is all things construction.  Design Construction Group (DCG) does it all from large renovations to new home builds.  The DMI-DCG combination makes the full-service design process even more cohesive and seamless.

They say that the journey is often more interesting than the destination.   This is true with our Full-Service Design.  DMI and DCG continue to hone their processes to better serve the customer.  It is a pleasure to work with homeowners who place their trust in our abilities and, without hesitation, turn over their homes to us to bring beauty and balance into their lives.
