Green is back in a big way for 2022. Typically, the upcoming year’s color varies from major paint company to major paint company. Not for 2022. These companies have chosen various shades of neutral green as their go-to color.
Check out these colors and see if you don’t fall in love with one or several of them. And don’t fret about how to coordinate with furniture and accessories. Expect these items to become available in beautiful coordinating green hues.
Sherwin-Williams: Evergreen Fog
Sherwin-Williams describes Evergreen Fog as “a versatile and calming hue, a chameleon color of gorgeous green-meets-gray, with just a bit of blue. It’s a simple but sophisticated wash of beautiful, organic color for spaces that crave a subtle yet stunning statement shade.” This color pairs nicely with warm and rich colors like this leather sofa. Bring the outdoors in with potted plants to add even more of an organic feel.
Benjamin Moore: October Mist
October Mist’s neutral hue lets you add in accent colors like a pale yellow, a red with hints of pink or orange, or a deep moody blue.
Dutch Boy: Cypress Garden
In keeping with colors to sooth us, Dutch Boy picked Cypress Garden as their 2022 Color of the Year. This color creates a calming effect in spaces. It is harmony and quiet all at the same time. Cypress Garden pairs nicely with soft gray/blues, browns, yellows, and natural furniture finishes.
PPG: Olive Sprig
By now, you are seeing a pattern with the major paint companies choosing similar greens. PPG is no different. Their 2022 Color of the Year is Olive Sprig. This color, too, has an organic vibe. The photo shows how shades of yellow, white, and blue pop off the warm Olive Sprig color. Even red hues like rust and burgundy go well with this color.
Behr’s pick for 2022 is Breezeway. Behr describes this color as a “relaxed and uplifting sea glass green expressing peace and tranquility for forward movement.” It is lighter and brighter than the other colors shown. This color may be the perfect choice to illuminate a dark room. In addition, Breezeway blends nicely with natural woods. It also harmonizes with shades of whites and grays.
Green’s current trend encapsulates our desire to be outdoors, especially after being cooped up last year. It is a color that brings the outdoors in and soothes us. Then there is a desire out there to warm up spaces especially with the overwhelming use of white, gray, and blue over the past several years. Finally, green is about renewal and rejuvenation. Find the green that speaks to you and enjoy its natural and warm presence.
